Position : Production manager (Shows)
About the company: Opak is a company within the music industry that manages and/or produces tours and concerts for Patrick Watson, Elisapie, Moonshine, Bibi Club, CHANCES, Bye Parula, The Barr Brothers, Aliocha Schneider, Fernie, James Forest and Billie du Page. Opak is also behind the production of the Live at Lost River festival (curated by Patrick Watson), and more recently we offer à la carte services in management and grants, and soon, services in show production.
Job description: Under the supervision of the director of tour and concert production, the person selected will be responsible for logistics and certain administrative tasks related to tours undertaken by a number of the artists represented by our company.
Description of tasks:

Research and secure transportation and accommodation bookings for the artists on tour

Fill out applications for travel visas, ATA carnets, and other required documents for international tours; follow up as needed

Collaborate with venues and promoters to prepare for the artists’ arrival (advance)

Gather the information necessary for smooth execution of artist tours, communicating the relevant information to artists and technicians (via Master Tour)

Process expense reports and supplier invoices

Participate in organizing various events produced by the company

Participate in managing artist merchandise (shipping, inventory, etc.)

Any other tasks required
Required skills:

Thoroughness, meticulousness

Excellent ability to multitask

Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks

Ability to adapt to new situations and manage stress and unforeseen events

Team player, energetic, resourceful

Ability to communicate clearly with various partners (artists, bookers, promoters, contractors)

Proficiency in sound and lighting technology (an asset)

Good knowledge of common office software (Word, Excel, etc.) and Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Drive, Calendar, etc.)

Proficiency in French and English (spoken and written)

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in the cultural sector

Previous studies in event production or event management (an asset)

Driver’s license (an asset)

Finally, must love music… and dogs (there are a few at the office!)

Conditions:

Full-time

40 hours/week, sometimes with an atypical schedule and the possibility of working evenings or weekends
